RECIPE: Cauliflower & Spinach Smoothie — Trust Me It’s Good

Cauliflower?  In a smoothie!? Whaaat!?!

Trust me, this is sure to be the next micro-trend in juicing. Cauliflower creates a creamy, dessert-like treat that puts a smack-down on cancer, sugar cravings, and ramps up your healing. Packed with vitamin C, Vitamin K, folate and numerous more micronutrients, cauliflower gives your body a trifold boost in cancer prevention.  It aids in detoxification (you know, how the body gets rid of that fried food waste, alcohol, and that gross exhaust you drove behind).  Cauliflower provides antioxidants to aid in cellular repair (Hello, anti-aging help!) and cauliflower has nutrients to decrease the inflammation in your body (buh-bye arthritis!) Cauliflower has specifically been linked to bladder, breast, colon, prostate and ovarian cancer prevention.

In a blender combine:

 

1 peeled frozen banana

1 cup cauliflower

1 handful organic spinach

1/2 cup almond milk

1/2 Tbsp cinnamon

1 tsp maca powder (optional)

1 tsp chia seeds (optional)

What do I mean by clean protein? I mean hormone and antibiotic-free, grass-fed dairy and meats, wild, low-mercury fish, beans, nuts, seeds, hormone and cage-free eggs.

Protein boosts metabolism and keeps us from feeling hungry longer.  That means less unhealthy snacking.

And greens… well they are about THE BEST THING we can give our bodies! Micronutrients galore that lower blood pressure, aid in cell repair, anti-aging, anti-cancer, the list goes on.

My husband impressed me when he topped his usual frozen pizza with arugula and an egg.  He is listening!

RECIPE: Granola Crumble

All aboard the Coconut Oil-is-the-Greatest-New-Superfood-Good-Fat Train!

What can’t coconut oil do? It can remove make-up, heal abrasions, moisturize skin, reduce wrinkles, fight infections and make food taste delicious!

It’s a great oil to use cooking at high heat and it’s great in this Granola Crumble recipe. I dare you not to try it!crumble ingredients

In a bowl/blender/food processor combine:

1 cup Gluten Free Oats

6 Medjool Dates, pitted

1-2 Tbsp Coconut Oil

1 Tbsp Cinnomon

Pinch of Salt

Choose a favorite sliced-fruit to crumble this over or bake in to crumble cups to use throughout the week

Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. Also Delicious with vanilla ice cream. Just sayin’. crumble cups
